It's official, Heathers out and Chuck Jordan is the New Mayor of Greenville Mississippi. When Heather was sworn in 8years ago I was there and so was Bill Johnson a photographer from the Delta Democrat Times. Just like before people came out to wish the in coming Mayor the best and give thanks to the out going Mayor for her service. A lot of the faces were new today and the old stanby group sat steadfast in their support of their candidates that sat waiting patiently for their turn to speak from the podium. Their was Lois Hawkins (My Church Member) and Reverend Tommy Benson that won City Coucil seats. Betty Waktkins and Derrick Simmons were resworn into their City Coucil Seats. Long time Political Activist and City Council Members Ann Hollowell and Carolyn Weathers were on hand to wish the incoming council people the best and give words of wisdom as they took the oath of office. Dr LV Martin was Present and Judge Lesslie King was on hand to officiate the ceremony. This morning's activities showed promise for the future. Like Reverend Benson said we only have one Greenville.
For best slide show viewing listen to James Brown Living in America, Tyrone Davis There must be something that I'm missing and Bootsy Callins Steppin out with Bootsies Rubber Band. HALLEYLUYA!
